After a fantastic time at the Airport Planning, Design & Construction Symposium in San Antonio earlier this month, our team is heading to Houston for the ACI-NA Airports@Work conference from March 24-26!

This is one of our favorite events of the year, bringing together experts from every part of airport operations for days of collaborative conversations. This year, we’re looking forward to discussing how airports are building more resilient operations with new technology and future-proof solutions.
A Conference for Innovators
Airports@Work focuses on the future of the industry. It’s a great opportunity for us to share our unique perspective on content-first strategy, explore emerging trends, and see their real-world impact on passengers, airport operations, and stakeholders.
Every innovation—whether in technology, security, or environments—ultimately influences the passenger experience. Synect encourages airports and consultants to identify the specific problems that they aim to solve (plus some potential solutions) before exploring high-cost, high-tech solutions.

Our approach starts with five key considerations and questions:
How does this meet passengers’ needs? Different travelers have different needs at different stages of their journey. First-time fliers need clear guidance to easily navigate check-in and security, while connecting passengers need skimmable directions to their next gate. Understanding passengers’ needs unlocks opportunities for innovation, such as introducing multilingual wayfinding for international travelers.
How does this meet stakeholders’ needs? Airports must consider the needs of internal teams, partners, and concessionaries. A well-designed wayfinding strategy enhances passenger awareness of key airport services and nudges them toward exploring everything an airport has to offer.
How will we capture passengers’ attention at the right moments? Are signs visible where they’re most needed? Where do passengers struggle, and where do bottlenecks form? Addressing the physical environment ensures wayfinding solutions are implemented in the right places to reduce confusion and improve traffic flow.
How will we communicate it? What should our wayfinding content prioritize? How does the content hierarchy align with the airport’s branding? Developing a strong content strategy helps airports align digital content and signage to solve challenges like limited screen space or low-visibility areas.
What’s missing in our current strategy? A final analysis helps airport teams fill any remaining communication gaps effectively.
In doing so, Synect’s smart solutions help airports build better passenger experiences. During Airports@Work, we can share and explore new answers to each question.
The Power of Content-First Strategy and Smart Solutions for Airports
Delivering the right content in the right context creates a seamless passenger journey—but doing so requires smart solutions and systems.

Airports rely on a vast network of digital displays to communicate with passengers. To ensure every display delivers cohesive content, airports must develop a clear content strategy and program to deliver the right content at the right time. When passengers are in line for security, they need guidance on how to divest; once they’ve reached their gate, they’ll be ready to hear about concessions.
When excellent content is delivered as part of a smart solution, its impact is heightened. Synect’s FIDS and wayfinding solutions make it easier for passengers to access the information they need, giving them more control over their journey.
Driving content and strategy with smart systems, such as Passenger360®, our semi-autonomous visual communication platform and CMS, helps airports streamline their operations. Using custom rules and smart automation, Passenger360 automatically updates content to meet the situation at hand. This saves valuable time for airport teams to focus on high-priority work. While this creates meaningful efficiency gains on an average day, it becomes even more impactful during emergency situations.
With smart systems, airports solve problems before they start.
Meet Synect's Team in Houston During Airports@Work!
