Just in time for the holidays and the busiest travel season of the year, Orlando International Airport is introducing their new digital airport host and guide, Annie the Astronaut. Annie is an iconic representation of Orlando and an imaginative, lovable host that kids of all ages can enjoy. This custom, 3D character was lovingly crafted by Synect, and she will appear on each canvas throughout the visual communication ecosystem to delight passengers as she guides them through the airport.
Annie assists passengers with wayfinding at the airport, and she will help debut new functionality on the video wall and other digital materials throughout the airport.
Annie was concepted by a team of artists at our Orlando studio and brought to life using 3D tools and motion capture. The team gave her humorous, lifelike mannerisms to enhance passenger experience and reduce stress by providing both information and entertainment throughout the airport environment.

The reception for Annie has been glowing since her debut. Fox35 Orlando says: “Since astronauts are explorers at heart, Annie's resourcefulness and curious nature make her the best choice for virtual outreach ambassador.”
Local digital news agency Positively Osceola calls her an “out-of-this-world envoy” who will “play a significant role in demonstrating the capabilities of the innovative digital platforms throughout MCO’s north and south complexes.”
